New Years Bible Crafts and Sunday School Lesson
All Things New - New Year's Crafts
Teaching Concept: God is the master of making things new. He created everything. He brings us a new morning, rain that cleans and brings us new life, and plants that produce seeds to make new plants. But best of all, he gives us new life! New Years is a time when people begin anew by making changes in their lives, but we don’t have to wait for the new year to be renewed. God can renew our mind, spirit, and strength every day of the year.

"Renewed Day by Day" 2023, 2 Corn. 4:16 Desk Calendar Craft
Children color the pictures on the background standup desk calendar craft and then staple the 2023 calendar pages to the front of the stand. Three folds and some glue makes the calendar stand up. This craft take three sheets of paper. You should use card stock (Heavy Paper) for the calendar stand. Patterns are available in both color and black and white. The Bible verse at the bottom of the calendar is 2 Corin. 416b, "Yet the inward man is renewed day by day" or "yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day". Available in either KJV or NIV.

Here's a fun snowflake or winter New Years coloring sheet. As children color the snowflakes they will be remindeded that Jesus makes them new day by day by the 2 Corinthians 4:16 Bible verse and saying.

New Years Three-in-a-Row Game
This games includes fifteen different game cards and playing cards with Bible verses that relate to the pictures.
To play cildren take turns picking a card from a bag or bow, reading the card, and then showing the other children the picture on the card. The players then mark their cards with a button or coin if they have that picture.
The player who marks three in a row on his or her card first wins. Available in KJV or NIV.

Paper Lunch Bag New Years Noise Makers
New Years Noise Maker Craft for Kids
Children of all ages will love making these paper bag noise makers. They are super easy and cost only pennies to make. Warning - they are very loud.
What you will need:
Paper Lunch Bags or Colored Paper Lunch Bags
Circle Reinforcement Labels or Star Stickers (You can white labels and color them with highlighter markers instead.)
Ribbon
Unpopped Popcorn, Dried Beans, Small Pebbles, Rice, or Anything You Have to Place in the Bags
Colored Pencils, Crayons, Markers, or Paint
How to Make the Paper Bag Noise Makers:
1. Decorate the bottom third of a paper lunch bag with markers, crayons, paint, or colored pencils, and add decorative tape or stickers.

2. Unfold the decorated paper bag and place another paper bag inside the decorated paper bag to give the noise makers strength.
3. Place a tablespoon of rice, popcorn, or anything else you would like to use in the inside bag. (Try different things in each bag and compare the sounds the bags make.)
4. To finish, gather up the sides of the paper bags smoothing them out as you crinkle them up. Spread out the tops of the bags and blow into them to puff out the bottom of the bags. When you have a good shape twist the bottom of the bags to make the handle of the noise makers. Use colorful tape such as duct tape or washi tape to decorate the handle and to keep it from unwinding.

Learning Activities
1. Play a Drawing Game
Give each child a blank piece of paper and a marker. Tell them to write their names on the paper and to think of something they would like to draw and begin to draw just one part of the drawing. Give them about ten seconds, and then tell them to pass their paper to the person to their left. Tell them to add something to the paper they just received, give them ten seconds, and then tell them to pass this paper to the person on their left. Keep going until everyone has received his or her paperback again. Ask the children if the picture they received looks anything like what they were going to draw when they started their picture. Tell them that with Jesus’ help through prayer and Bible study, the Holy Spirit can change us into whole new people. We can become completely different people on the inside than we are now.
2. Talk About New Year's Resolutions
Ask your children if they have any New Years' resolutions and if they want to share them with the class. You can also make this a game. Ask the children to write one thing on a piece of paper that they would like to change this year or work harder on. Collect the papers and read them out loud. Have the children guess who wrote which resolution. To finish pray about the resolutions the children have written.
