Plaster
Cast Feet or Hands Craft
What
you will need: Play dough, plastic
container at least 2 inches high and big enough to fit your
child's foot or hand with a little room left on the sides, plaster
of paris, paint, big paper clip or something to hang the plaster
cast, child's foot or hand.
How to make:
1. Push
some play dough into the bottom of your container. Make
it about an inch thick. Smooth out the top. The play
dough should be soft enough for the child to make an impression
of his foot. For direction to make play
dough click here.
2. Have
your child make an impression in the play dough with his hands
or feet. You may have to press on his hands or feet to make
a better impression.
3. Prepare
the plaster according to the directions. Pour the plaster
over the impression and fill about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch.
Shake the mold or tap with a knife to get out the bubbles
about 10 seconds or until you don't see many bubbles.
4. Partially
unfold the paper clip. Place a paper clip in the plaster so
that it is sticking out. Make sure you have it at the
top of the mold so that it will hang right.
5. Let
the plaster dry and then carefully remove the mold.
Take off as much play dough as you can. Let the rest dry completely
and then brush it away.
6. Paint and date your plaster cast.

Noodle
Necklace Craft
Children
will love putting these together. They are easy to prepare
and very inexpensive.
What
you will need: yarn, noodles, food coloring, and rubbing
alcohol
How to make: Add a few drops of food coloring to a large bowl,
pour in a small amount of rubbing alcohol (a couple of tablespoons).
Pour in the amount of uncooked noodles you want to die.
Keep turning the noodles until they are covered with die. Add
more food coloring and alcohol if needed. Remove the noodles
from the bowl and let them dry on a paper towel. When the noodles
are dry they are ready to be strung. To make the yarn
easier to insert into the noodles dip the ends in melted wax
or wind a small piece of masking tape at the end.

Nuudle
Fun
Here's a new craft material that young
children will love to work with. Nuudles are similar to corn
starch packaging peanuts that dissolve in water, except these
come in different colors. All you do is dip the nuudles in a
tiny bit of water or press them onto a wet sponge and stick
them together. You can stick them to each other or stick
them on to other objects to make designs or sculptures. If you don't want to buy these nuudles
just save your packaging peanuts. (Not all packaging peanuts
will work. Some are made from Styrofoam and won't melt in water.)

you will need: At least 3 different
colors of mylar sheets, (If you you don't have mylar
sheets, you can use colored paper) and Clear contact paper.

make:
1. Cut
off desired length from the roll of contact paper.
2. Cut
mylar sheets into different shapes.
3. Remove
protective cover from the sheet of contact paper and place
shapes on the sticky side leaving some sticky surface expose.
4. When
all the shapes are in place stick the paper on a window.
The stained glass looks best when the sun shines through the
window.

Plastic Canvas Rainbow Craft
This rainbow almost glows when
you hang it in a window.
What
you will need: 6" round plastic canvas, craft lace
or 1/8" ribbon in red, orange, yellow, green, blue and
purple, 6 pony beads to match each color.
How to make:
1. Cut
a round plastic canvas sheets in half then cut out the middle
so that only 6 rows remain to form the rainbow.
2. Cut
one piece of craft lace or ribbon of each color about 20 inches
long.
3. Starting
with red, then orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple from
top to bottom lace each piece of lace or ribbon through
the canvas. When using the craft lace be sure to pull
the lace all the way through each time. You will probably
need a yarn needle if you are using the ribbon. Leave
the ends of lace hang at different lengths.
4. To
finish add 3 beads of the same color to the ends of each ribbon
or craft lace. Tie on a string to hang it up when you
are finished. If your craft lace is not hanging straight place
it in warm oven for a few seconds or place it out in the Sun.
When the lace warms up it straightens out.
