The Shepherd's Hear the Good News
A Christmas Play
Cast: Shepherd 1, Shepherd 2, Narrator, Angel, Multitude of Angels
Scene 1 - The shepherds are in their fields at night
Shepherds - "Baa, baa" Make sheep sounds
Narrator - "On a hillside just outside of Bethlehem, some
shepherds were gaurding their sheep one night.
Scene 2 - Angels Appear - Large angel comes down from the sky
Shepherd 1 - "Look!"
Shepherd 2 - "What is it?" (scared)
Angel 1 - "Don't be afraid. I have good news for you. This
very day in Bethlehem, a Saviour was born for you. He is Christ the Lord. You
will find the baby wrapped in cloth lying in a manger.
Scene 3 - Multitude of Angels - Lots of angels come down from the sky
Multitude of Angels appear (start Music)
Everyone - "Glory to God in the highest heavens and peace
on Earth.
Scene 4 - Shepherds go to find the Baby - The shepherds move
up and down as the backdrop is moved behind them.
Narrator - "The Shepherds ran to Bethlehem and found the
baby as the angels had described. The shepherds told everyone what had happened
and what they saw that night and praised God for sending his Son as he had promised.
