How to Make Paper Dolls
"God Made Me" Paper Dolls
Children will enjoy making these paper dolls to resemble themselves. Children use templates to trace the basic clothes shapes onto construction paper that matches the color of their clothes. They draw in the face and add hair that matches the color of their own hair.

Comments
from crafters - Hello, I thought you might like to see how I used
your wonderful snowman paper doll. I made cards for my twin nieces using
Picture It! Publisher. On the front of the card I put the naked
snowman and in a balloon put the words, I am really cold. Can you help
me get warm?" I pasted the clothes on the inside. I received an
email yesterday with pictures from my brother who said the girls were
delighted with the cards and had to do them first thing.
I noticed that Erin didnt even take time to take her coat off!
I live in Wyoming and the twins live in Texas so I dont get to
see them very often. This was a really fun thing for me to do for them
and I just wanted to write and tell you thank you for the great paper
doll. Linda

Comments about this Craft:
I used the "Scruffy the dog" paper doll for a unit entitled "Meeting Needs"
with my Kindergarten class (Sydney, Australia). The students discussed the
difference between wants and needs, and were asked to contribute to a
picture list on our basic needs. When we had narrowed them down to food and
water, shelter and warmth, love etc, the children made Scruffy and saw how
we meet the needs for our pets. We discussed how God supplies all our needs
and concluded the lesson with a thank you prayer. Glenda Rouxel

Troll
Baby Paper Doll
What you will need: Paper, markers or crayons, fake fur, bows or something for the hair, white poster board, paper glue.
How to make:
1. Print
out the pattern provided. Glue the pattern onto a piece of poster board using
Elmer's rubber cement. (Rubber cement will not wrinkle the paper
like some glues. If you get too much on, let it dry and then
rub off the excess. Caution: Do not let young children
use this glue. It is extremely flammable and toxic)(Problems Printing?)
2. Color
the troll front and back.
3. Cut
out a piece of fake fur to fit where the hair should Geo. When cutting
the fur brush all the hair to the center so that you don't cut off
the length off the fur. You should be able to see the
canvas that the hair is attached to before cutting. Glue the
hair to the head and then glue on the back of the troll.
4. Add
a bow if you would like.
