My Bible Dictionary - Bible Study Tool for Children's Ministry
Children use their Bible Dictionaries to write definitions of Bible words from their lessons. They can also illustrate the words to help them remember the definitions. The printable patterns for the dictionary cover and pages are available to members on The Resource Room and as an instant digital download.
Folding Craft Sticks Bible Verse Memory Game
The craft sticks are taped together so that when the craft sticks are pushed together from the top and bottom of the stack they fan fold up into a compact stack of sticks for storage. This craft is great to use as a memorization tool. Children can test themselves by unfolding one section at a time to reveal the next part of the verse.

Supplies Needed:
Woodsies Mini Jumbo Craft Sticks -4.5" 50/Pkg - Use good quality craft sticks that lay flat. The 5/8" work perfect with the one-inch tape. *You can use the Woodsies Jumbo Craft Sticks with the 1.5 Inch - 3M Scotch Masking Tape for a bigger Canvas.
3M Scotch Masking Tape, 1-Inch - Other brands will work, but this tape works great! It is the exact color of the craft sticks. (Staple's Tape works better with the washable markers, but it is lighter than the stick and more transparent and doesn't cover the stick as well.)
Permanent Markers, Crayons, or Colored Pencils - (Washable markers don't work well because the smear.)
How to Make the Folding Craft Stick Canvas:
1. Cut the one-inch masking into 4-inch pieces.
2. Place two sticks together, side by side, and tape them together covering both the sticks with the tape.

3. Turn the two sticks over so that they are diagonal to you.
4. Place another craft stick next to and below the two sticks that you taped together. Use another piece of tape to tape the bottom two sticks together.
5. Turn all three sticks over diagonally and place another stick at the bottom of the row and tape the last two sticks together. Keep going until you have a whole row of sticks.
Children can use permanent markers, pens, or colored pencils to write the Bible verse on the sticks and then decorate them. They can also draw a picture on the back of the sticks that represents the Bible verse or the Bible story.
If a child messes up while working on his canvas, you can pull off the tape where he messed up and replace it with new tape.
These folding craft stick canvases can also be used for other purposes. You can also be used to make greeting cards for Mother's Day, Father's Day or Birthdays.

The sticks can be reused by just pulling off the tape and placing new tape over the sticks.
Bible Verse File Card Holder
What you will need:
Colored Card Stock
Glue
Decorative Items such as Stickers, Gems, and Sequins
Scissors
Magnets (Optional)
How to make:
1. Before class print out the card holder pattern onto colored card stock. (Printable pattern available to members on The Resource Room.)
2. Cut out the patterns, score the fold lines with a sharp object and then fold the sides. Glue them closed.
3. In class have your children stick stickers or glue decorative items onto the box.
4. You may also want to glue magnets to the back of the box so that the boxes can be stored on a refrigerator.
All the Bible verse cards on The Resource Room come with small tabs with pictures that can be glued along the top edges of the cards as shown in the picture above. Children can use the pictures on the tabs to see if they remember the Bible verse that goes along with that picture, then they can pull out the whole card to see if the remembered correctly.
One of my favorite things on your site is the Bible Scripture Cards. The kids love the cards. As the kids come in for children's church, they color their Bible cards. I had trouble getting enough boxes of the macaroni boxes so I bought brightly colored photo books for 59 cents at Big Lots and at those little Chinese dollar outlets. Each week the kids place their cards into the photo album. They like flipping through their Bible Scripture Books. They can take these home when the book is full. I also like to shrink down the stories to card size and if I can find picture cards I like to print them off as well. Suzanne
Bible Verse Frisbee
What you will need:
Cool-Whip or other dairy whipped topping container lids, Pre-printed or pre-made easy-to-learn Bible verses or pictures about the focus Bible story for the lesson (Pictures from magazines, old Christmas cards, Valentines or greeting cards could also be used- depending on the theme), Stickers, Craft glue, Paint markers (washable or permanent - depending on the age).
What to do:
1. Before class print out the Bible verse your children will be learning on sticker paper or card stock. Cut them to fit the lid size and stick or glue them to the lid.
2. In class have your children decorate the lids with stickers or markers.
Older children can draw a picture relating to the lesson on one side of the "Frisbee".
3. Have the children toss their Frisbees at a target, play catch, or just throw and run after them, repeating the Bible verse each time they throw them. Children can take their Frisbees home and share the verse or story and play with the Frisbee with the family.

Bible Verse Memorization Using the Memory Cross
Here is a great way for your students to memorize Bible verses. This origami cross can be folded over and over changing shapes and showing a different part of the Bible verse each time.
Your children will find that it is hard to stop using them once they start. Memory Cross offers Bible verses that go along with many of the most popular Vacation Bible School programs.
They also have one for the plan of salvation, which would be a great witnessing tool.
They also have many other Bible verse packages you can pick from. If they don't have what you want, you can custom order them. Or you can order blank ones and have your children make their own. (See the pictures below.) Go to Memory Cross Inc. to order yours today!
Get Your Paws On a Good Book

I used a daily Bible reading theme by using a dog (similar to the one on your "Beware of the Dogs" lesson.) holding a Bible. I called it "Get Your Paws on the Good Book."
Each child got a weekly "doggie bag"(a brown paper bag) with seven dog bones (copied onto tan construction paper) with a daily Bible verse and a question about the reading.
Each child brought his/her bag back each week with their signature and parent's initial that each passage was read and the question answered. I asked the parents to participate to encourage family devotions. Carol Weddle
